The current mayor is more focused on catering to tourists than taking care of the needs and safety of Virginia Beach residents. By returning either the current Mayor or the former Vice Mayor to office in this November election, residents and taxpayers will just get more of the same – ever increasing spending and higher taxes.

John Moss believes in the following governing principles:

• Tax relief: Families should be first in line in keeping more of what they earn.
• Fiscal Responsibility: Growth in city spending should trail the growth in families’ incomes.
• Trust: What is "legal" does not set the "high bar" of the public’s expectation of Virginia Beach City Council and the Mayor of Virginia Beach.
• Economic Growth: Free enterprise, not government creates wealth and prosperity.

John Moss’ priorities as Mayor of Virginia Beach will be:

• Reduce the real estate tax burden of Virginia Beach homeowners.
• Rebalance the focus of Virginia Beach City Council from tourists to families.
• Hold the city manager accountable for cost and service performance.
• Eliminate subsidies that favor one industry segment over another.
• Create tax incentives versus new taxes and fees to foster job creation.
• Focus on the basics – public safety, education, and neighborhoods.
